Now that I have had enough time to sink back to reality I needed a Hawaii fix. So, out of my longing for sunshing and above freezing temperatures comes “Ho’omana’o Kaua’i” or “Remember Kaua’i”.

Well the vacation to the Islands is nearly over. We are waitng for the flight back home to the mainland and wish we were home already. Once we hit the airport we realized all of our family and friends we missed. It’s been just over a week but we are ready to come home. With all of the security we had to pass through and long flight ahead, it would make anyone wish they were home.

So, in the meantime, I snapped a few more pictures to commemorate the airport gate waiting area. Although I might have looked slightly suspicious to airport security, there are plenty of interesting signs, placards and equipment to be photographed. Enjoy our waiting area.

This afternoon the Misses and I went on a rainy day drive in search of some fair skies. Needless to say we had a great time and found lots of sun, and photo opps, on the south side of Kauai. I took so many photos that I wanted to share with you all that I made a digital photo book of them all.

It is amazing how something so simple as a band of metal makes such an impact on a persons’ life.

This is a snapshot that captures the reason I am here. This trip has been on both Kristi’s and my mind since we first had the idea of a getaway. What makes this trip so enduring is the fact that we are here together and for one another; to fulfill the promise of love we both made.

If I can express just one little snippet of advice in this short entry it is that joy is usually found in the following hierarchy:

1. In God
2. In Family
3. In everything else

Today is an adventure day.

Woke up early this morning and did a little photography around the condo and felt very optimistic about the day. Along with listening to Jack Johnson on Pandora Kristi and I had a beautiful morning; definitely in the Aloha mood!

Shades in Kauai

In Hawaii.
There can’t be a better place, other than heaven.
This is the first in a blog series based on the goings-on of Kristi and my trip to Hawaii.

To start this week-long journal I just have to say that there is nothing better than getting in the rig and driving just to drive. No particular destination, no schedule, no rigid budget; just pure, unadulterated freedom.

We ate lunch in the rain, found a geocache, picked up some fresh fish for this evening and accidentally bought $10 worth of trail mix. Needless to say we loved every minute of it.

What this day has spoken to us so far is that when you have a solid foundation of love, both for one another and for God, the rest just falls into place.
